The value of returning

Some ideas arrive quickly. Others become visible only through returning to the same subject, again and again. In the studio, repetition can be a way of noticing more rather than making the same thing twice.

A shift in colour, a change of scale or an edge left unresolved can alter the feeling of a work. These small decisions accumulate. Over time, they become a language.
